The DPDT examines the application to ensure:
Timeline: Typically 2–4 months
If approved, the design is registered, and the DPDT issues a Certificate of Registration.
The design is recorded in the Register of Designs and published in the Official Gazette.
Validity: 25 years from the date of filing or priority date
Renewable for three further periods of 5 years each (maximum 25 years)
